From the studio
This painting began as a nighttime scene in a Seussian mountain landscape, but as I worked, the plants gradually took over. I imagined them talking and singing together, much like the garden in Disney’s animated Alice in Wonderland. The bird arrived to draw nectar and listen to their songs. Somewhere along the way, the landscape became a gathering place. Apparently, I had painted somewhere with dinner and live music.
