Everyone Fucks Up

We are all becoming

Everyone fucks up. Everyone.
That’s not a condemnation—it’s a truth written into the fabric of being human. We are clumsy creatures, stumbling through the world on fragile legs, guided by imperfect maps. Sooner or later, we trip. Some falls are quiet, private things; others are loud enough to echo through years. But none of us escape unscathed.

A close friend of mine is walking through the fire of his mistakes right now, and it has me thinking: what do we do when we fall?

Because the fall itself is never the end. It’s the silence after—the choice of whether to stay down, to sink into shame, or to stand again in a new shape—that defines us.

Guilt has two faces. One is heavy, crushing, the kind that pins you to the floor and whispers that you’re done. The other is sharp and clarifying, like a chisel shaping stone. It can cut away the illusions we clung to and reveal a stronger, truer form beneath. The same weight that breaks us can also be the weight we push against to rise.

Mistakes are mirrors. They reflect back the versions of ourselves we’d rather not see. The arrogance, the hunger, the blind spots. But in their distortion, they also reveal possibility: the chance to become someone else, someone wiser. We cannot erase what has been done, but we can choose what it teaches us.

And here is the quiet gift of difficulty: it can be a doorway. What looks like collapse can, in hindsight, become the foundation for something more enduring. Falling can become a form of flight—awkward, painful, but necessary for wings to grow.

So if you’re on the ground right now, hear this: falling is not failure. It’s a moment. A threshold. A chance. You are not commanded to stay down. You are invited to rise differently.

We are all becoming.
